Character Creation

These are the guidelines meant to help expedite character creation and give a step-by-step of which pages to visit in a general order.

Determine Species

Choose a species from the Species list. The chosen species will determine your stat generation and which species traits you can take.

Choose Species Trait

Once your species is chosen you have a single Species Traits you must pick, as determined by your chosen species. For example, Humans have the choice of taking one of the following; The Struggle, Supremacy, Flexibility, or Mixed Bloodline. Once chosen this species traits cannot be changed later.

Determine Attributes

Once determining which species you'll take, you roll the stats given by the species' page. For example, a Human has 2+1d6 in each attribute (giving them a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 8). For species like humans where two or more stats have the same rolls, you can roll them and assign which roll is which attribute, and don't necessarily have to go in order.

After attributes have been generated you can reallocate 2 points from your attributes into other areas. For example if you rolled a subpar Strength but higher Intellect, you could dock 1 Int for 1 Str. You can also break this up, reallocating 1 from Int and 1 from Drive to instead put 1 point into Agility and 1 point into Dexterity.

Determine Background

Choose a Background from the Backgrounds list. These typically include an exclusive trait and a bonus skill for your character, and for some classes a certain trait which is only granted from specific backgrounds is required before taking the class.

Determine Class

Choose a class from the list of Classes available. Most games start at level 1, however some games may start at a later level. If they start at a later level, be sure to account for this in your decision making.

Starting Wealth for each character is equal to 1,000 × level.

Choose Class Trait

Similar to when you choose your species, choosing your class prompts you to choose a Class Trait from the traits listed by your class.

For example, for a Soldier they have the choice of the following; Veteran, AWOL, Traitor, or State Loyalty. These choices often either alter or add to the way the class is played, or include significant roleplaying opportunities. Once chosen a class trait cannot be changed later. You gain a class trait every time you'd take your first level in a new class, for example if you were to take 1 level of Soldier to start but then decided to take 1 level of Scum next, you'd have to choose a class trait from the Scum's list as well.

Determine Spells

If you are one of the few spellcasting classes, be sure to pick up your spells from the appropriate school of magic your class uses. Typically, spellcasters receive a single Spell and 3 Minor Spells upon taking their first level in their spellcasting class.

Purchase Equipment

Once you've taken your class and determined your starting wealth, you can start purchasing equipment. Typically buying a weapon is good enough though some may wish to also purchase armor or a vehicle as well.

After that, you should be all set!
